Lisa Height-Gross has over 34 years of business and leadership experience in the niche market of providing care services for seniors. Her deep compassion and understanding of the emerging issues of the elderly pushed her to address the needs of seniors through her nursing referral agency, Loving Care Senior Services. For Lisa, community is everything. Her passion for serving others is met only by her drive to grow, both personally and professionally.
The oldest of eleven children, Lisa was born and raised in Huntingtown, Maryland. Growing up in a full house taught Lisa from an early age the importance of strategic partnerships and collaboration. This is knowledge that she’s put to good use, growing both a prosperous business and nonprofit organization.
The seniors will always have a special place in Lisa’s heart. Their unmet needs are what drives Lisa and the entire organizational structure to find innovative techniques which are beneficial for seniors as they age at home.
Nine years ago, after working in the senior services industry, Lisa saw the need for an organization that strategically connected patients and caregivers. This led her to establish Loving Care Senior Services, a nonprofit that addresses the wide range of unmet needs currently faced by so many elderly patients in our community. Lisa quickly got to work, building a solid foundation for the agency based on her skills in strategic planning, budget management, program marketing, and staff recruitment and development. Now celebrating its tenth year, Loving Care has grown to reach residents across Southern Maryland—and its sterling reputation has, too. Seniors and their families request Lisa and Loving Care by name. Her passion has driven the agency to deliver quality services with exceptional outcomes by operating in two prongs: evidence-based practice and a patient-centered approach. Her business acumen is guided by her in-depth knowledge about COMAR regulations, Federal and State Employment Law, and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Regulations.
Further, Lisa’s certifications include The Ultimate Supervisor’s Workshop Certification, Assisted Living Manager’s Certification, Certified Medication Technician, CPR/First Aid Instructor’s Certification, Maryland State Notary, Certified Grant Writer, and Maryland Real Estate License.
Even with a successful real estate business and rapidly growing nonprofit, Lisa still finds time for family, friends, and faith. She and her husband, Derrick, have raised their son, Dirk, in the community that they love so much. Lisa is an active member of Bethel Way of the Cross Church, serving on the Kitchen Committee, Health Guild, and Sisterhood Choir. She has also volunteered her time to support Chesapeake Cares Food Pantry, SMILE Food Pantry, and United Way of Calvert County. When she’s not out in the community, you can find Lisa taking some time for herself, enjoying hobbies like singing and browsing the shelves of Office Depot.
